Diem Brown, MTV reality star, battling cancer for the third time: ‘This time around has been the scariest’

The MTV reality star was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. She previously battled ovarian cancer twice - first in 2003 and again in 2012.

"The Challenge" star Diem Brown is in the midst of another uphill battle with cancer.

Brown, 34, who has beaten ovarian cancer twice, was recently diagnosed with colon cancer - but she's not giving up.

"This time around has been the scariest build up towards my cancer journey," she told E! News in a statement.

"Both mentally, physically and emotionally the most traumatic. I've been needing some hope to fight for, some light to look forward to at the end of this journey. I find that strength in my family, friends and fans. People I've never met believe in me, I can't let them down! I won't."

The MTV reality star first fought ovarian cancer in 2003, at 23 years old, before it reappeared in 2012. She was rushed to the hospital last week after collapsing while filming a new reality show, People magazine reports.

"It's been a dark couple of days," she told the magazine. "But the outpouring of support has been tremendous. It's truly what will keep me fighting."

Brown underwent two emergency surgeries on August 17 and 20 - the latter due to complications from the first surgery to remove a tumor blocking her colon, People reports.

She is currently in stable condition, albeit in intensive care, at an unnamed New York City hospital, where she's expected to stay for two weeks.
