A source close to the situation has revealed that the details of the behind-the-scenes tension and bickering that eventually drove them apart.

A huge factor in Nick and Mariah’s split is distance — while the two are primarily based in New York City, Nick is often touring or working in LA. Whenever Mariah points out that he doesn’t need to work as much as he does, it only makes him more upset, a source revealed to E! Online.
